Like Magic: The Excitement of Seeing a Project to Completion at Finite Engineering

If you ask Adam Sheridan about his career with Finite Engineering, he’ll tell you that he’s an engineer who does sales, and not the other way around.

That distinction is important because it means that Sheridan is always thinking about the challenges of the client and how to solve them, not just about making a sale. He’s always wanted to be an inventor and loved to build and tinker, so after beginning his career in real estate and finance, Sheridan decided to formalize the interest and earned a mechanical engineering degree.

Sheridan also holds an MBA in Finance, adding to an impressively diverse background in technical sales, business strategy, data analytics and computer programming. He not only loves to build things; he’s always engaged in building relationships with people, asking questions to pinpoint problems and design solutions. 

Every Project Is Different

Ask Sheridan what he enjoys most about his role at Finite Engineering and he will tell you that it’s the variety—getting to work on anything and everything. There’s a diversity of experience among the team and they are continuously getting the opportunity to work on changing tasks and unique challenges. Sheridan finds it all rewarding and enjoyable.

The first project that Sheridan saw through the entire customer lifecycle was one for a new business that wanted to create an improved version of an existing agricultural product. Typically, he does not have a high level of involvement in the actual engineering work at Finite, so when he was able to see the completed project, it was a great moment.

Though he has been in the industry for a long time, Sheridan uses the word magical to describe how it feels to see a project go from a concept in someone’s mind to a fully functioning and complete digital rendering, ready to be created. It reminds Sheridan why he wanted to be an engineer.



In addition to always thinking about solutions to problems and finding better ways to do things, Sheridan leverages coding skills to design automated workflows and improve outreach efforts and processes.

When asked to explain his career at Finite, Sheridan said, “We are a team of mechanical engineers that serve as a project-based resource for existing engineering teams when they need additional firepower to build and design consumer products and industrial machines and equipment.”
